The NIR-fluorescent Cy5.5 Alkynee can be reacted with azides (Ne) via a copper-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC) forming a stable triazole and does not require elevated temperatures. Cy5.5 is a water-soluble, pH-insensitive, bright fluorescent probe that can be used in place of Alexa Fluor? 680, DyLigh?t 680, or IRDye? 680 and other dyes excitable at a wavelength at around 680 nm.
